Inspired by ice, world-renowned designer Zaha Hadid showcases her talent through the Liquid Glacial collection. This collection features timeless tables, armchairs, and stools, characterized by enchanting wave-like lines crafted from transparent acrylic material.
Architect Zaha Hadid is widely known for her architectural works and her firm, Zaha Hadid Architects. Beyond that, she also founded a design studio called Zaha Hadid Design, which focuses primarily on product design and sculptural furniture design. Her creations are shaped like large blocks of ice, carefully carved and polished on the surface. When placed close together, they reflect images onto each other. These illusions blur the boundaries between materiality and innovation through the use of new materials in the creative process.
The Liquid Glacial Coffee Table casts shadows that resemble water reflecting light, creating a shimmering, fluid effect
The Liquid Glacial coffee table embodies the interplay between motion and stillness. Created for the David Gill Gallery in 2012, soft waves and ripples flow beneath the flat surface of the tabletop, while its legs curve from horizontal planes into a stunning whirlpool of water seemingly frozen in time. The final piece is an exquisitely delicate object that captures colors from its surroundings and reacts to different viewing angles.

The Liquid Glacial dining table features six legs extending horizontally into an impressive frozen swirl, resembling gentle waves beneath the flat tabletop surface. Created for the David Gill Gallery in 2012, this effect is enhanced by the use of transparent acrylic, which adds depth and complexity through endless light refraction and reflections across the table’s surface. As a result, this stunning piece inherits a wide range of colors from its surroundings and continuously adapts to the viewer’s changing perspectives. It can also function as a coffee table.

The flat surface of the Liquid Glacial Table is transformed by gentle waves and ripples visible beneath, seemingly flowing into a powerful vortex that forms the table’s legs.
“I have always been fascinated by the soft imagery of flowing currents,” said Hadid. “Professionally designed, with high-tech materials and structures, we strive to create exceptional products.”
