Liang Architecture Studio has transformed a flagship theater space inside Chongqing’s MixC mall into a “soft stage”, where fluid linen drapes evoke theatrical motion and cinematic atmosphere. More than a performance venue, this design immerses visitors in a sensory architectural narrative.
From the entrance, visitors are guided through a corridor that resembles a backstage passage, with layered curtains and soft lighting creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In the main hall, high ceilings and neutral materials are thoughtfully combined to create an open, calming space — like a quiet stage set under dim lights.
By blending form and emotion, Liang Architecture dissolves the boundary between audience and actor. Linen drapes, organic curves, and soft light guide visitors through a space where they actively participate in the architectural performance.
