On June 7, 2024, the Indonesia – ASEAN Design Conference took place. The theme of the Indonesia – ASEAN Interior Design Conference was “Sustainable Materials in Architecture and Interior Design.”
Overview of the Conference
The program featured representatives from the Interior Design Associations of the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore, aiming to provide diverse perspectives on sustainable materials in architectural and interior design. It also sought to raise awareness about the importance and urgency of using safe, environmentally friendly building materials and interior designs.
Sharing Diverse Perspectives on Sustainable Materials in Architecture and Interior Design
The event created opportunities for professional exchange and collaboration in interior design and interior design education for the Vietnam Interior Design Association. Through sharing and discussions, representatives from the Vietnam Interior Design Association gained valuable insights and lessons from their counterparts in the Philippine and Indonesian Interior Design Associations. Having developed over 40 to 60 years, these associations have established detailed legal frameworks for practicing interior design, ensuring professionalism and securing livelihoods for interior designers.
At the conclusion of the program, regional associations—especially the Asia-Pacific Design Federation, the Philippine Interior Design Association, and the Indonesian Interior Design Association—expressed their willingness to accompany and support the Vietnam Interior Design Association in building regulatory systems, professional standards, and organizational structures, as well as in promoting activities to strengthen connections and cooperative development.
The program opened valuable opportunities for professional meetings and exchanges in interior design and interior design education for the Vietnam Interior Design Association.
